About

I love a cup of hot tea or an iced coffee, cute flats, and creamy, yellow paper in old books. When I'm not working as a substitute teacher, I like to take a walk downtown to the library to borrow a heaping stack of books. Actually, I just borrow one at a time because I have this talent of returning them late, earning myself a fee, but "heaping" sounds cooler, huh? I also like to sew vintage dresses and reenactment costumes. I'm making a Renaissance costume right now, which is probably one of the nerdiest crimes a person could commit, but that doesn't stop me from sniffing my nose and turning it upward at the Comic-Con festival or the Furries Convention in Pittsburgh (secretly, I would go if the opportunity presented itself).

I live in Wheeling, West Virginia. You may also refer to this state as "West, by God, Virginia" or "Almost Heaven" as the residents here do (humble much?) but, never, ever say, "Oh, you mean the western part of Virginia. I have a cousin that lives there." We are our own state. The great part about this state is that it's cheap. That's how two newly wedded, twenty-something, humanities majors came to live in the Victorian district. It's like San Francisco minus the hipsters.... and affluence.... and the jobs. Crap.

Like every other moving being out there, I love music. I love folk, jazz, baroque, classical, and some other things that you can't fit into a genre. I'm a frequent Pandora listener, and I will confess, the cheap part of me that won't let me buy songs, just listens to them YouTube, on repeat. When I discovered Pandora, it was a godsend. (Pandora is not a paying sponsor of this blog). I'm all ears for music. What do you want me to listen to?
