Got Questions? I’d love to answer! 

Height: 5’3”

I would love to be: A Dinosaur, any dinosaur. 

What do you do for a living? I’m a substitute teacher. During this past summer, I worked as a soil tester at the USDA office.

Do you even know anything about agriculture? Nope. I don't even have a yard. So in a nutshell, no, I cannot tell you why your fig tree is dying. 

Do you color your hair? Nope, but I did find my first gray hair this summer...

What kind of bands do you listen to? The Civil Wars, Fleet Foxes, Mumford & Sons, Philip Glass, Dave Matthews Band, Sea Wolf, Bon Iver, Miles Davis, Theolonius Monk, The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Florence + The Machine, and much, much more. 

How long have you been sewing? I learned how to sew this past winter. I’m still taking sewing lessons in Pittsburgh at Cut & Sew studios.

Do you have children? Yes, one dog.

Who is your photographer? My husband, Eddie, or I take the photos.

What kind of dog do you own? Yorkshire Terrier. Her name is Puff. :)

Where did you meet your husband? We met at Wheeling Jesuit University while taking a Modern Russia course. 

What did you get a degree in? I have a bachelor’s degree in History and Theology. I am a certified 6-12 English and Social Studies teacher, and I have a Master’s in Educational Leadership. I have one year left until I am a certified Elementary teacher!

What is your ethnic background? Mexican-American.

Did you grow up in West Virginia? Yes, since the age of 5. 

What does your husband do for a living? Eddie is a Document Specialist at Williams Lea. He is also a freelancer, and in the past, he has edited questions for the European Union civil service test. 

What does Eddie have a degree in? Eddie has a B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in Mathematics and History. His dream is to earn his Ph.D in Philosophy. 

What is your dream job? I have a lot of dream jobs, and some of which I've already made come true, but here's my job bucket list: barista (check), independent restaurant server (check), librarian, museum educator, nature educator, agricultural development (check), AmeriCorp (check), blog development for a fashion boutique, cashier at Whole Foods, craft seller, all-girls school entrepreneur (check), personal blogger (in progress), creative writer, food taster, and of course, an elementary teacher (in progress).  

Where did you go to school? Wheeling Jesuit University. Prior to undergraduate and graduate school, I attended an all-girls school, Mount De Chantal Visitation Academy. If I have a feminist flair, this is why. 

What does your husband like to do? He really loves to homebrew. Eddie also likes to read philosophy books, and he is currently tackling “Infinite Jest.” What a hipster, psh.

When did you and your husband get married? July 2, 2011.

What kind of camera do you have? We have a Nikon d 3000.
