Part I: Our Romantic Retreat to The Barn Loft

Hi Everyone! We didn't post last night because we packed our suitcases and drove to Fayetteville, WV for a pseudo-impromptu getaway. We are staying at The Barn Loft! Ah! So many wonderful things to say about such a sweet, charming Bed and Breakfast. Here are some words that come to mind when I try to describe this place: magical, enchanted fortress, romantic, whimsical, rustic, charming, hideaway, and a "grown-up" treehouse. Perhaps its beauty lies in its simplicity. The Barn Loft is just that, a barn loft. You climb a ladder to get to a secluded studio, framed with gaping, wooden panels. Strands of lights dangle from the ceiling and at the center of the spider-web of lights hangs a low crystal chandelier. At the far end of the barn sits a cast iron bed cushioned with pillows and a quilt-like comforter. A veil hangs over the bed and a rug surrounds its feet. A small rocking chair, distressed dresser, side table, and kitchen table keep it company- all characters that one might think come alive when we're away. I'd confidently recommend this retreat, to say the least.

There are more pictures to come!
