{This is where we take a walk each morning. It's so gorgeous. |
Remember that job Eddie interviewed for -- the one I couldn't mention or else I would bring on bad luck? Good news! Eddie got the job at Williams Lea working as a Document Specialist. We're ecstatic. A real job. A grown up job. One that will put us in the lower middle class income bracket. Finally! Haha!
I've been away for a couple of days because I'm back in school, not just as a substitute teacher, but also as a student. I have a few classes left to take to earn my elementary certificate. Although I'm a little bummed to still being in college, after what seems like a decade, I couldn't be happier with what I'm learning. I don't have to juggle core classes with speciality classes. This week I read children's books, practiced handwriting, and made a paper airplane. Who can complain about that? To top if off, I feel like a thief when I get paid for subbing. After all the fun I had, you're going to pay me?
As if I couldn't be happier, I dug out my old, worn in jeans. The ones from undergrad. You know, the jeans you've loved so much that have a snug fit with the comfort of sweatpants? The holes are widening, leaving denim strings, from where my thighs have rubbed together. (I remember this episode from Oprah where a lady talks about having multiple plastic surgeries to remove fat from her inner thigh so they wouldn't touch. Oprah responded in her Oprah-way, "You mean they're not suppose to touch?!" Oprah, my thighs touch. And I don't mind. Except for the holes in my jeans from what must have been flaring friction.) You can see where I unsuccessfully tried to stitch in a patch. No way I'm going to throw these babies out.
